Advancement and changes in National education policy will bring many changes in the field of psychology. The Policy's approach towards Liberal education and multidisciplinary learning is a great step for developing a curious and enthusiastic individual of tomorrow.
From a perspective of psychological advancements in the discipline of psychology, National Education policy will ultimately create a place for better learning methodologies, Quality and effective teaching methods, Healthy counseling practices and interdisciplinary and innovative
Researches.

The changes can be widely clubbed in the following heads:

1. Enhancement of Research opportunities :
Research work has always been known to be the process which leads us to gain in-depth
knowledge about new and wide range of human behavior. Human behavior is an aspect whose
reliability can be established but validity can't be established with accuracy. People have always been trying to study them and generalize it to a larger population. With the policy's more focus on interdisciplinary researches, we will be able to study human behavior in other disciplines too. Interdisciplinary researches will pave the path for new findings. It will be not be restricted to
only hospitals, counseling clinics, Designated and planned sessions to correct dysfunctional
beliefs rather it will get extended to day to day interactions and development of new
interventions to study and modify behavior.
Funding provided by the government will promote more interdisciplinary researches and novel ideas where ideas will get a chance to get transformed into famous developments with rigorous and systematic application of procedures. It will raise the standard of public institutions, facilities, infrastructure, and opportunities for aspirants to conduct research on novel ideas. National research foundation will be set up to grant competitive funding to facilitate researches in various disciplines and interdisciplinary researches in psychology will inculcate many novel ideas to get transformed into policies or come into action for the betterment of mental health of people of India. Recognizing outstanding researches will develop more interest and curiosity
among people.

2. Enhancement of the Knowledge impartment arena
This area includes receiving great knowledge about Multi-disciplinary Fields and Transfer of that knowledge to students by teachers. This includes breaking the Silo of Psychology and inculcating various disciplines together to promote interdisciplinary learning and teaching. Psychology could be clubbed with other disciplines and studied in an entirely new and innovative ways. Each field involves human behavior and now it can be studied with a view that how the behavior in each discipline can get affected with various factors of that discipline.
Selection of faculty will be on merit basis, elimination of external influences, only deserving candidates will be selected bases on screening tests. Such factors will increase the standard of imparting knowledge by teachers and the accountability for educational outcomes will also increase.
There will be a change in the curriculum, pedagogy and assessment methods and new and innovative methods will be developed for each discipline clubbing the various theories of
Psychology and assess their application in those fields. Lack of Information Communication material in schools, psychological and social awareness could be checked and improved because
of government getting more focused on school education to create more friendly and interactive environment for children, teachers and parents too. Children will not be restricted to Science, commerce and humanities but they will be able to choose their interest areas and club various fields which will begin at school level itself. Open distance learning will be re-imagined to ensure the quality is equivalent to regular Courses to increase the literacy rate among Indian population. There will be various policy formulations which can be based on applied researches. For example – If we club psychology and law then people will be able to apply various aspects of each field in the other disciplines and take out solutions to very problematic solutions of each field. People will be able to know if maternity leaves are important hence paternity leaves which
has already been approved by supreme court for specific days right now as per law is also
important and should be provided and be applicable in every work institutions.
There will be reduction in identical Education.

3. Paving the way for new trends of Mental health in Schools

According to the Right to Education Act, Every school should have 5 Counselors, 5 Special
Educators and 5 social Workers in every school for better mental health of students. This when
incorporated with Interdisciplinary learning will improve the standard of education and mental
health of students in schools. They will be freely able to take up their interest areas and will be happy to work on their favorite and most preferred field. This will reduce the stress levels and exam pressures of children as they would be enjoying their subjects and work will no longer stay boredom for them instead will get converted into exciting and challenging tasks of their interest areas which they would ultimately love to explore more.
Schools focus areas will shift from producing high yielding rote learners to talented and
intellectually developed Critical thinkers, problem solvers. This will promote creativity and pro-social behavior in class as each child will be able to distinguish their own strengths and will be able to share that with others.
It will also engage children with Local communities and work with real life problems beginning from school level and will inculcate Collaborative and Solution focused learning among students as well as teachers. This will make classrooms more interactive and innovative with creative methods of learning and solving problems in novel ways.
